3×2 Solar cells

I received 42 3×2 solar cells today. This is enough to construct a decent sized panel of around 30 watts. The fun part will be soldering all 42 in series. I know I say 60 amps in the video ( or close to it) but that was assuming I wire it all in series/parallel….and I doubt ill do it…wouldnt that be 1260 watts?

Try eBay for loose cells….
I purchased my solar cells from solar-deals(.)com. 5″ x 5″ solar cells.
.5V @ 1.4A * 24 in series = 12V *1.4A = 16.8W
Voltages add in series and current adds in parallel.
You would have to parallel 43 strands of 24 to get 12V * 60.2A = 722.4W. Of course it’s not that easy as you’d need blocking diodes to prevent “shaded” cells from drawing current.
FWIW, Jay
I just got another 50 pcs of 5″ x 5″ KPE monocrystalline solar cells for $169! Offer is going on until Sunday, July 12th, 2009! Solar-Deals(.)com
poss + is on the bottom of the cell, and neg is on the top of the cell, check out my web site

Aren’t Blue side negative and the back side positive?
